Long-term care at Generations Toronto provides nursing and personal care, meals, medication management, and support with daily activities care for individuals who can no longer live safely in independent or assisted housing. All long-term care beds at Generations Toronto are licensed and regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Long-Term Care.

A not-for-profit, culturally, and linguistically inclusive home designed to support seniors who require daily care and medical supervision in a safe, dignified, and community-oriented setting. With 122 beds, the facility will offer 24/7 nursing support, access to medical and therapeutic services, and a robust program of social, recreational, and spiritual activities. Integrated within a broader multigenerational campus, the home fosters meaningful connections between residents, families, and the wider community–helping reduce social isolation and promote well-being.
What is a Long-Term Care Home?
A Long-Term Care home is a licensed residence for seniors who require daily personal support and medical care that cannot be safely provided at home. Also known as nursing homes, these communities offer 24/7 care in a secure, welcoming environment with services that support residents’ physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being.

*Residents are responsible for a co-payment fee, set by the Ministry of Health, based on room type. These rates are standard across Ontario and effective as of July 1, 2025, and are subject to change.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for long-term care in Ontario, you must:
- Be 18 years or older
- Have a valid Ontario Health Card
- Have care needs that can be met in a long-term care setting (as determined by Ontario Health atHome)
How to Apply
Application process will begin on February 6, 2026
As of February 6, 2026, Generations Toronto will be listed as a long-term care home option and may be selected as one of an applicant’s preferred homes on the Ontario Health at Home application form, subject to eligibility, availability, and waitlist prioritization.
Individuals may apply for long-term care from home, hospital, or another care setting. An Ontario Health at Home Care Coordinator will assess care needs, determine eligibility, and guide applicants through the application process.
Long-term care in Ontario is publicly funded by the Government of Ontario. All long-term care applications, eligibility assessments, and placements are coordinated by Ontario Health at Home in accordance with provincial legislation and policy.

The Ministry of Long-Term Care has approved the designation of the Generations Toronto long-term care home as an Ismaili designated ethno-cultural home for all 122 licensed beds. Admissions will be coordinated by Ontario Health atHome in accordance with Ontario Reg 246/22 and the Fixing Long-Term Care Act 2021.
